As part of the federal government’s efforts to promote and enhance research security, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has established requirements for disclosing foreign support when applying for or conducting NSF-supported research. Key points of the NSF requirements are summarized below.
BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES and CURRENT AND PENDING (OTHER) SUPPORT
The NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) requires certain disclosures in biographical sketches and current and pending (other) support, including:
- Disclosure of contracts associated with participation in programs sponsored by foreign governments; and
- Disclosure of direct or indirect support that is funded by a foreign government-sponsored talent recruitment program.
