What do I need to disclose to the NIH?

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) require investigators to disclose research activities, financial support, in-kind support, positions, appointments, and other types of information through various documents and processes. The NIH provides guidance on what investigators need to disclose and how to disclose it:

NIH Disclosures Table – This table describes what activities need to be disclosed and when, and in what format (Other Support, Biosketch, Progress Reports, etc.), or if disclosure is required at all.

NIH Biosketch FAQs – These FAQs address what should be included in a biosketch and how to comply with NIH requirements.

NIH Other Support FAQs –These FAQs address what information should be included in Other Support documentation.

Additional information and guidance on disclosing international engagement activities are located on the Office of Research Security and Trade Compliance website.
