Information Sessions on the Updated NIH Genomic Data Sharing Policy

As referenced in the January 24, 2025 communication from the Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer and the Senior Vice Chancellor for Research, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) updated the Genomic Data Sharing Policy.

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is partnering with Pitt IT to provide virtual information sessions on the new security standards outlined in the policy and the Pitt IT services available to researchers to comply with the requirements. An overview of the policy changes and internal process will also be discussed.

The intended audience is researchers who plan to access data from NIH controlled-access repositories, including the Database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGaP) and the National Institute of Mental Health Data Archive (NDA).

Two identical information sessions are being offered, and registration is required.
