As part of the federal government’s efforts to protect the integrity of the academic research enterprise, the Department of Defense (DoD) has provided guidance and policies regarding disclosures of foreign support when applying for or conducting DoD-supported fundamental research. Key points of the DoD policies are summarized below.
SENIOR/KEY PERSON PROFILE FORM
Per the March 20, 2019, DoD Memo regarding Actions for the Protection of Intellectual Property, Controlled Information, Key Personnel and Critical Technologies, the Senior Key Person Profile form for all DoD assistance proposals must include certain information for all key personnel, including the following:
- A list of all current projects the individual is working on, regardless of source;
- A list of any future support the individual has applied to receive, regardless of source; and
- The names and addresses of the agencies and/or other parties supporting the other research projects.
